Yoko Ono’s ‘Make-Up Tips For Men’ (Video)

Yoko Ono’s new make-up video tutorial, Make-Up Tips For Men, is arguably stranger than her collaboration (and most likely inspiration) Opening Ceremony collection, Yoko Ono Fashion For Men 1969-2012, released in November of last year. The one-minute and 36-second long video poem explores three men’s makeup looks (daytime, evening and dawn) in the suggestion of experiential text – in other words, there’s no literal make-up advice; it’s more of an offering of feelings. The visuals follow suit in the sort of post-ironic surrealism that Opening Ceremony has been re-cultivating in the last few months, and also features a remix of Ono’s “The Sun is Down. ”
