Watch Julian Lynch Preview New Album, ‘Lines’

Underwater Peoples’ resident academic avant-experimentalist Julian Lynch is set to release a new album, Lines, on March 26th. In anticipation of its arrival, he played a preview set for Pitchfork Weekly, aided by musical allies Ian Drennan, Kelly Anne Ebbels, and Evan Brody. In addition to offering viewers a foreshadowing of Lines’ manifold evolutions, Lynch, an anthropology Ph.D candidate, also discusses why it is artistically liberating that music remains an in-depth ‘hobby’ as opposed to a career for him – one that continues to hint at interesting new sonic trajectories, such as the recent inclusion of the saxophone (enjoy above).
