V Magazine – Lady Gaga and Marc Jacobs

2 of the Empire State’s most recognizable faces, Marc Jacobs and Lady Gaga, grace the cover of V Magazine’s 67th offering, The New York Issue. Photographed by Mario Testino, styling by Nicola Formichetti, and artwork for the magazine’s notable “V” by Dan Colen. Colen, who chose bubblegum as his medium,  is 1 of 4 New York based artists chosen to interpret the iconic “V” for the September issue.

Editor Stephen Gan explains, “Just as the Statue of Liberty was France’s gift to America, Gaga is, to us, New York’s greatest gift to pop culture and fashion. She embodies everything V is about, and is also a beacon of the city’s creativity and hope. Exactly one year after her first V cover (the first fashion magazine cover she was on), we decided to do The New York issue, and she was the first person who came to mind to represent our great city. In the year that’s passed, she has become a bonafide genius and we can safely declare her our muse. Above all, a New York issue should celebrate people who’ve done great things. We at V are grateful Gaga came along to put the New back in New York!”

Finding cool stuff online is like making rapid fire but unrelated connections in your brain – one second you’re thinking about puppies and the next you’re contemplating life on Mars. How does it happen? Random. But interesting. Stream of conscious. Starting out with lord only knows what at this point, I skipped across photographer [...] >>
CYEOMS by Crystal Yeomans

CYEOMS by Crystal Yeomans

This is a tale of two cities; a story of lovers and 2×4′s, nervous break downs and self discovery. But above all, this is a story about fashion. I met her at a party, somewhere between drunkeness and floating, but I didn’t forget about Crystal Yeomans, the designer behind CYEOMS. Crystal is a ‘reverse-rebel’; both [...] >>
