The Row: Pre-Fall 2011 Lookbook

If you don’t know the name, you know the team behind the name. The Row is Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s three-year-old couture label, named after the famous Saville Row in London.

The Pre-Fall collection demonstrates two designers honing their voice in the high-fashion world, with bold statement pieces like baggy blouses and oversized dress pants.

Their fashion is androgynous to the point where the models simply look as if they borrowed their brother’s clothes—yet, I don’t think this is a bad thing. Fashion needs to be fun, and it needs to be wearable, so why not?

While boyfriend jackets, high-waisted pants and bed-head hair certainly aren’t new innovations,  it’s nice to see two designers bringing bohemian androgyny to high fashion.
