Norman Felix Gallery presents Northern Touch

We hit up the Norman Felix Gallery (627 Queen West at Bathurst) over the weekend for the Northern Touch art show opening reception. Canadian graffiti artists doing their thing.
I’m no graffiti connoisseur but… there was some pretty sick work. I’m partial to Omen because he’s dark… with skulls… and that speaks to me. Elicser, Mediah, Sight1, Soy, and Jeff Blackburn are hanging on the walls, and for sale no less. Does hanging graffiti take away from the nature of the beast? I don’t know if I care to consider it. I should have talked to their docent – probably the best pug docent you’ll ever meet.
I couldn’t keep my hands off the tasty (spicy) mashup-of-pork-and-brie sandwich bites by Anthony Rose. He’s opening a new spot - Rose & Son’s – in the Junction soon. You may want to check that out.
No fear if you missed the festivities for the opening, there’s going to be live painting during Nuit Blanche, so if there’s nothing else good happening Sept 29, at least there’s that…
