Made In Iceland

There’s an adventurer in everyone. I used to climb trees and study ant behavior and explore forests that were really just overgrown brambles and cane grass. It’s like we lose that curious spirit as we grow older and become consumed with the world of 9-5, bills, and name brand jeans.

After watching this film, I found mine again. Klara Harden’s dream had a dream too, she wanted to explore Iceland. She raised 1250 Euros (through crowdfunding) and spent 25 days hiking through the forlorn countryside – by herself. That takes some balls. I think I just met my new hero. You get a little more insight into the solo journey from her interview with Nomad Earth.

“…It was the longest, hardest and most adventurous undertaking of my life. And I loved it. I was never tired so, so happy, so drained, so bored of my own thoughts, so alone, so hungry and so alive…

I sat on the bus back to Reykjavik, as I have this quote from Mark Twain found in the booklet of bus travel. Somehow it sums up why we should all follow our dreams: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the ones you did Thu Sun throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe. harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. “ Mark Twain
