Jeff Nishinaka is a Paper Genius

Posted by Jonathan Kates   |

Jeff Nishinaka’s use of paper is something I have never seen in my life. What look like sculptures made of marble or some other malleable material are works made entirely of white printer paper and as Cool Hunter points out, Nishinaka’s use of white paper “makes the exquisite play of light and shadow a large part of the appeal of his work”. The Los Angeles-born artist has had private commissions as well as having worked for companies like Visa, Toyota and Coke and the biggest collector of Nishinaka’s work – in addition to being his friend – is Jackie Chan. I don’t even want to know how much one of these pieces costs…

Hit the jump for a few more looks (including a bad ass Lion King piece).

Finding cool stuff online is like making rapid fire but unrelated connections in your brain – one second you’re thinking about puppies and the next you’re contemplating life on Mars. CYEOMS by Crystal Yeomans

CYEOMS by Crystal Yeomans

This is a tale of two cities; a story of lovers and 2×4′s, nervous break downs and self discovery. But above all, this is a story about fashion. I met her at a party, somewhere between drunkeness and floating, but I didn’t forget about Crystal Yeomans, the designer behind CYEOMS. Crystal is a ‘reverse-rebel’; both [...] >>
