James Morgan Photography – E:XILE (Video)

One of my favorite global photographer/filmographer, James Morgan has only recently come to my attention as a maker of politically poignant short documentaries.

As both the director and editor of the film E:XILE – Syria’s Battle For Internet Freedom, Morgan follows the story of Dishad Othman, a Syrian digital security expert-turned-human rights activist hiding from the Syrian regime in a small village outside of Dublin, Ireland.

In the space of five short minutes, Morgan manages to tell the story of digital-revolutionist Dishad, and the much bigger political story of mass persecution that Syrian nationals face within the borders of their country.

I take using the Internet for granted and I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to live in fear.

Hats off to James Morgan Photography; E:XILE has given me a very pensive Tuesday.
