Jake Davis Captures the Many Faces of Delvaux
Holy fucking perfection. When people ask kids what they want to be when they grow up, most respond with the usual teacher, fire fighter, weatherman shpiel. Well I want to be Carmen Dell’Orefice, and if I can’t be her exactly, I’d like to be close. She’s so damn beautiful, and for those of you who don’t know about her, well, I am so very happy to be able to introduce you to her face in this film by Jake Davis, whom we’ve featured on the site before. His signature slow-mo videos capture a graceful essence, and yet totally distract from what is supposed to be featured — a line called Delvaux. Brought to you by Barney’s, who “knows a good thing when we see it,” Delvaux is one of those good things, the Belgian luxury leather goods house launched exclusively in the U.S. last Fall, a collection of brilliantly crafted, timeless designs for women of every age and style. I guess Carmen epitomizes that, considering she looks as bangin’ as a 25-year-old, who’s much er…wiser.
