When the working day is done, oh cats, they want to have fun…

Artist Jo Hamilton uses the old past-time of crocheting to create beautiful crochet portraits of friends and family, working directly from only photographs. Using the basic crochet technique and tonnes of patience, Hamilton works one knot at a time unraveling and reworking the yarns until the portraits are the spitting image of the muse. Hamilton decided to document the process using stop motion animation, containing over 300 photos of the work in progress, to show us the labor intensity and creativity that goes into each piece. Bill Murray gives us a guided tour of the set of upcoming film ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ directed by Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola. Cast includes: Edward Norton, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Bruce Willis, and playing the starring roles of the two children Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward. The movie will be out Friday May 25, 2012.

Off of his upcoming and long awaited follow up to Food & Liquor, Lupe Fiasco drops the latest single ‘Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)’ from Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album. Sampling the Pete Rock 1992 anthem ‘T.R.O.Y,’ Lupe proves he’s back to his hungry heavy-spitting abilities he graced us with on his freshman album, but still sticks to the politically driven rhymes he’s famous for.

Starring Ben Kinglsey and Helen Bonham Carter, ‘A Therapy’ is a collaborative film project by director Roman Polanski and Italian fashion house Prada. The concept being while a stressed Carter is bearing her emotions to her psychiatrist Kingsley, Kingsley becomes fascinated by her purple fur Prada coat hanging on the stand and begins to explore his inner cross-dresser by fawning and modeling in the coat. The film ends with the words ‘Prada Suits Everyone’ — point taken. The film is complimented with great acting, as well as the directorial talent of Polanski. Check it out.

By now most of you probably know that Jay-Z recently launched his own music festival called ‘Made In America.’ Some of the line-up was recently unveiled with names like Miike Snow, Odd Future, Dirty Projectors and perhaps the most surprising of all, Pearl Jam who will be performing on stage. Inspired by an essay on Peter Pan, ‘Peter Brings the Shadow to Life’ by Joe Pease is a very interesting take on skateboarding video which captures the actions of the shadow only. A wonderful narrative that captures the inspiration behind it brilliantly.
