New York Fashion Week – Duckie Brown SS 2011

If Steven Cox and Daniel Silver have anything to say about it, menswear as we know it is about to get artfully deconstructed.

Populated by oversized staples and some playful twists you’d never expect (did you see those toxic green drop-crotch pants coming?), the Duckie Brown Spring/Summer 2011 runway show was nothing short of entertaining – a virtual devolution of shape – and sure to be copied by hipster trendsetters everywhere.

Not known for shying away from the dramatic, this season’s collection was no exception. They say their inspiration was “everything but the kitchen sink”, and they weren’t lying! From thoughtfully-tailored everyday pieces to striped beanies and animal print over plaid, this design duo have created an aggressively eclectic collection of pieces that look just as good together as they do separate.
