Download of the Day: Biosphere’s Secret Thirteen Mix

by Colleen Nika   |

Lithuania’s Secret Thirteen music journal is a great example of why slowing down and doing a particular thing really well will always be better than throwing content at a wall and hoping it sticks. Specializing in keeping electronic mixtape culture alive through weekly curated creations by some of techno, ambient, and noise’s most illustrious (and obscure) names, it’s truly a unique online destination – further proven by the quality of this week’s mix by Norwegian arctic ambient legend, Biosphere. Assembled in honor of friend and collaborator Pete Namlook, who passed away in November, Geir Jenssen (Biosphere’s mortal name) presents a phenomenal set of reflective synth, industrial and roughed-up but pretty electronic gems from 1978 to 1981.
