When Global Footprint commissioned Dominic Wilcox to create a shoe, he decided to make a pair that will guide you home no matter where you are. The inspiration? Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. With the help of interactive arts and technology expert Becky Stewart and Stamp Shoes, Wilcox managed to transform concept to reality. Much like the protagonist of L. Frank Baum’s book, the click of a heel will guide you back to where you came from with the help of an embedded GPS. The bar of lights on the right footing will let you know how close you are to your destination. If that doesn’t work, the bespoke leather design is a pretty good sell.
