CONTRA tv x NYFW: Mandy Coon Spring/Summer 2013

Mandy Coon’s Spring Summer 2013 collection was a far stretch from the usual seasonal wares of florals, pretty prints and floaty fabrics. But Mandy Coon’s girl is different, one that isn’t afraid to embrace a certain delicate femininity, with a deep crimson smile and smudgy black liner. It was a heavy collection, lots of black and super bold hues of red and jewel tone purple. On the contrast, all white outfits matched those really cute-ishly creepy bunny head bags. As is the Mandy Coon signature, the silhouettes and structures were strong. Interesting skin exposing cuts and subtle harnesses hammered in sex appeal, as did textures of materials like black leather (duh), silk, and beautifully detailed organza. This is one pretty punk.
