Coloud Spring/Summer 2013 Headphones Collection

Coloud is a new Swedish company looking to capitalize on a market whose needs for headphones for their MP3 players and smartphones is at an all-time high. The idea? To bring a simple, clean, no fuss designs that are also durable for those who use their devices incessantly, which is a similar philosophy fellow Swedes Urbanears have in their approach.
From the looks of the Spring/Summer 2013 line, it certainly looks like they’ve embraced the whole minimalist theme with tonal aesthetics, but that is not to say they don’t bring a bit of contrast as evident in their use of dual-colors. All styles, be it earbuds or over-ears, are equipped the standard 3.5mm plug, a microphone/remote control on the cable and what’s great is the tangle-free system with a plug that bends 180 degrees to hold the cord in place. So it has all the basics, but whether or not it matches up sound-wise is up for debate. But even then, the prices are fair at $30/$40 a pop. There doesn’t appear to be any DJ-specific headphones, but Coloud is still new so perhaps that’s something we’ll see in the future. Not a bad look so far for those who want simplicity and it’ll be interesting to see how they hold up against Urbanears.
