Chapter’s ‘Lone Odssey’ Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection (Video)
Chapter is a new menswear line that has embraced the contemporary nature of Modernist design, while, in the brand’s own words, evoking “underlying, emotional states of grandeur and visceral apparel” that define the concept of what it means to dress like a man today. This translates to — in the vein of BLK DNM and Neil Barrett — textured sweater knits over limb-tailored skinny pants, mohair galore, and a monochromatic scheme that no one could love more than us. Of course, no first collection is perfect, and Chapter’s play at minimalism is almost as unsuccessful as their very apparent Maison Marton Margiela-inspired logo. The best part of Lone Odyssey, and what sticks to you most afterwards, though, is the collection’s quiet strength that rolls off of each look’s layers – there is a solid and subtle waft of dark confidence to the brand, and there are a lot of layers.
