Born and raised in New York City, Gordon Stevenson, aka Baron Von Fancy, has been surrounded by commercial signs all his life. Sadly, the old hand-painted signs are disappearing. Baron von Fancy‘s work is an homage to an older New York and meant to honor the sign-painter artists who plastered the city with words. Most of the phrases he uses are pseudo-clichés, tongue-in-cheek aphorisms that he overhears in his daily life… For this first show in France and during Valentine’s Day month, he mostly painted love letters… Opening with the artist February 4, from 6 pm – 8 pm, with Grolsch. Some souvenir products will be available: Deer Dana t-shirts andbags, lighters, postcards and colette candles..
